Market context
XRP is not doing much, and that is the point. The token traded at $1.0648 on Wednesday per Cryptonews, with the RSI at 43.71 and momentum indicators flat. That comes against a backdrop where Ripple's Treasury platform has been pitched as a $12.5 trillion payments visibility tool across 13,000 bank connections, and Standard Chartered has kept an $8 price target dated to 2026. The gap between the pitch deck and the tape is the whole story right now.
Zoom out and the picture is less grim. CryptoQuant told CoinTelegraph on Wednesday that whales in BTC, ETH, and XRP increased balances through the recent weakness, a pattern the desk labels late-stage bear accumulation. That is consistent with what on-chain watchers have flagged for XRP specifically: exchange reserves have bottomed near 2.55 billion tokens, the lowest cycle print, suggesting sellers are running out of supply to dump into weakness. But absorbed supply does not equal demand. Somebody still has to lift the offer above $1.41 for any of this to matter.
Technical setup
The $1.05-$1.06 zone is doing the work of a shelf. Cryptonews framed it as the critical support Wednesday, and the price has repeatedly wicked into that band without a clean break. Below sits the $1.20 print that some desks had earlier treated as support and is now overhead resistance in this leg. Above, $1.41 is the ceiling that has capped every attempt since the leverage flush that reset positioning.
Realized volatility on Binance dropped to a three-month low, per U.Today. Coiled tape is not a directional signal on its own, but combined with reduced exchange reserves and flat momentum, it is the setup traders describe as a squeeze primed rather than a squeeze confirmed. A daily close above $1.41 is what changes the read. Anything short of that keeps XRP inside a range that has punished both bulls and bears since the last impulse.
