Market context
XRP came into the week riding a cautiously bullish tape. The Federal Reserve's latest signal had pushed the token up more than 6% earlier in the cycle, whale wallets were adding, and the ETF conversation was quietly getting louder. Then Thursday happened.
CoinGlass logged roughly $1. 55 billion in forced liquidations across the market as news broke of a reported $6. 36 billion exploit against Binance, the largest exchange breach ever recorded by dollar value.
Bitcoin and Ether sold off hard, and XRP went with them. CryptoPotato's Oct-30 price read put ETH down 7% on the weekly, and XRP's rejection at its own prior resistance tracked the same selloff beat for beat. The CryptoBeast model still shows a composite score of 66, labeled bullish, but that read is doing a lot of work from a sentiment input of 92 that was anchored before the hack headlines rotated the tape.
Treat the score as a lagging indicator this week, not a leading one.
Technical setup
XRP had been coiling under a resistance band that bulls were framing as the gateway to a $2 handle before Thursday's drawdown. The hack-driven liquidation cascade knocked price back inside the prior range and reset short-term momentum. The structure that matters now is simple.
A reclaim of the pre-hack resistance on real volume, not a thin weekend wick, puts the $2 conversation back on the table. A loss of the weekly pivot that held through the Fed-driven bounce flips the setup from accumulation-on-dips to confirmed distribution. Volume on Binance's XRP book remains the single most important technical input, both because it is the deepest venue and because Binance's own operational standing is now part of the trade.
