What happened
LBank is pitching Nvidia stock exposure inside its crypto app, VP Kaia Wong told BeInCrypto in an interview published Wednesday. The pitch, according to the report, is simple: a user who already trades BTC and ETH perps on the venue can take a position on NVDA through a stock-linked instrument on the same platform, same wallet, same KYC rail. There's no brokerage account, no T+1 settlement, no US market hours gate.
The product sits alongside existing crypto pairs and is being framed as part of LBank's broader roadmap into 2027. The exchange hasn't published a prospectus-style disclosure of how the instrument is structured, and Kaia Wong's comments to BeInCrypto did not name the issuer or custodian backing the exposure.
Why it matters
The quiet story of 2026 has been offshore crypto exchanges reaching for products that used to belong to brokers. Perps on commodities. Perps on FX.
Now named single-stock exposure, with Nvidia as the headline name because Nvidia is what retail wants to trade. If LBank's model works and doesn't attract an immediate enforcement response, Binance, OKX, and Bybit have every incentive to follow. The structural implication is bigger than one listing.
A crypto exchange that can offer 24/7 exposure to the ten most-traded US names starts to look less like a crypto venue and more like a shadow retail broker running on stablecoin rails. That's the pitch Kaia Wong is making. It's also the pitch that put FTX in regulators' crosshairs in 2022, when tokenized stocks on its platform drew warnings from securities regulators in multiple jurisdictions.
