What happened
U. Today reported on Saturday that Solana took in 73% of net inflows into tokenized funds over the past week, pulling clear of every other smart-contract chain tracked in the piece. Tether, in the same window, onboarded about 1.
7 million new wallets across the networks it supports, with a sizeable share landing on non-Ethereum rails. The XRP Ledger rounded out the top three venues, picking up fresh issuance from asset managers testing cheaper settlement layers. Ethereum went the other way.
Its tokenized real-world asset stock fell by roughly $26 million week-over-week, a rare net outflow for a chain that still hosts the majority of RWA value overall. The report framed the move as a rotation, not a collapse, with issuers spreading risk across chains rather than consolidating on one.
Why it matters
Tokenization is the thesis every major asset manager repeats on earnings calls. BlackRock's BUIDL, Franklin Templeton's BENJI, and a growing list of money-market and private-credit products have so far concentrated on Ethereum. A single week of flow doesn't flip that.
But the direction is the story. Solana's share of tokenized fund inflows isn't a rounding error at 73%, and Tether choosing to grow its wallet count on chains other than Ethereum is a direct signal about where the issuer sees payment demand. The headline looks bullish for Solana and XRP.
The flow picture suggests Ethereum is becoming one venue among several rather than the default. For a market that priced ETH as the exclusive RWA chain through most of 2024 and 2025, that's a repricing in slow motion.
